How the list is built

Ada’s site is a Kindling Pool host with four public Pools on one domain: the listeners’ list and three tour stops. Here is how they work, every setting and file, and what the v0.1 schema cannot say yet.

The list is a file on Ada’s own site

The listeners’ Pool is adaquillon.example/pools/ada-listeners.json, a JSON document anyone can fetch §3.1. Each entry points to a page its person keeps, and carries a copy of what that page said when they said yes §3.4. Nothing in it points to Ada’s letter host, her store or her social accounts, which is why moving them changes nothing here.

Tour stops are Pools too

v0.1 has no event. A stop that wants a list of who’s coming is its own small, public Pool, with the date in its name and charter. Saying yes to it is the whole of saying you’re coming. After the show it stays up as who was there.

Messaging rules

The Pool asks senders to be at least email verified §3.3. After that, each listener’s own page decides §7.2. Most say people on the same list may write (accept_from: shared-pool); some take any verified sender; one keeps no_cold_messages on. Nobody’s rule is set for them.

Leaving

One withdrawal message, processed at once; the spec allows sixty seconds §5.3. Leaving the listeners’ list does not touch a stop’s list, or any other Pool: each is a separate yes.

If Ada stops

Noemi Castro, a listener in Olympia, is co-curator of the listeners’ list. If Ada takes no curation action for 90 days the Pool goes dormant §9.1, Noemi is first in line, and active members decide within 14 days §9.3. Lena Brightwater and Kiri Walsh co-keep the two stops they host.

Block lists, and money

Every Pool here subscribes to the Kindling project’s list and the Circular consortium’s §7.3. Nothing is charged at the connection layer §1.3: the money is records, shows and tips, all outside the protocol.

Honest limits

What the v0.1 schema can’t say yet

Where the specification text and a schema disagree, our JSON follows the schema. These are the gaps that touch this site.

There is no field for an event.
No date, time, venue or capacity in a manifest §3.2 §3.3. Each tour stop is its own Pool, with the date in its name and charter, so a client cannot sort stops by date or tell that one has passed.
Pools cannot say they belong together.
Nothing links a stop to the listeners’ list. The discovery file lists four Pools side by side §10.2, and a reader has to guess from the names that three are one tour.
There is no “ended”.
archived means a failed curator transition §9.4, so a past show’s list stays active.
The window is configurable in text, not in the manifest.
§5.2 says “configurable per Pool”; there is no field. The listeners’ requests use the default 14 days, and a stop’s requests lapse at the doors, each carried in expires_at.
“Never sold” has no field.
The promise lives in the charter and governance_rules prose. A public Pool is readable by anyone §3.2, which is also why there is nothing to sell; what protects people is their yes, their own rules §7.2, kindling_noindex §2.7 and shared block lists §7.3.
A creator’s other lists have no place.
The letter’s subscribers, the store’s buyers and the social followers are outside the protocol §1.2. Nothing in a manifest points to them. That is what keeps the Pool safe when Ada moves, and it also means a client cannot offer “get the letter” from the Pool itself.
Distance is not in the protocol.
A parsed profile has a city and region, and optional latitude and longitude §2.4. “Near you” here is worked out from rough town centers by this page. Someone who wrote only “Tacoma” sits at the middle of Tacoma.
There is no type for a first message between members.
§6.3 lists four types; the schema has six, adding withdrawal and system. None is “a first note from one listener to another”, so Marisol’s note to Soraya is sent as an intro, through the list.
A co-curator has no role.
Lena and Kiri keep the stops they host, and Noemi co-keeps the listeners’ list. The manifest can only mark one curator primary §3.2; “the venue”, “the host” and “first in line” are prose.
Level names differ between the text and the schema.
§4.5 names email-verified, oauth-verified, curator-vouched and unverified. The schemas say email, oauth, curator-vouched, unverified and cryptographic, and a curator can only be email, oauth or cryptographic. Our JSON follows the schemas; our pages use the words.
Field names in the text and the schemas differ.
§6.2 calls the Pool reference pool_ref; the schema calls it via_pool. §12.1 names kindling_version; every schema uses schema_version. §10.2 names pool_url and a per-Pool curator_contact; the well-known schema uses manifest_url, with one contact on operator. Our JSON follows the schemas.
No provenance field on parsed profiles.
§2.3 names extraction_source, but the parsed-profile schema has no such field and forbids extra ones. A listener’s card cannot say which lines were marked up and which were inferred.
